an exhausting responsibility

I am exhausted. In the second long day of deliberations, we sat around a large table in a room without windows trying to recount facts, and interpret them, and discuss and argue. We filled large white pages on an easel. Six women, six men, mostly older than 50. Five black, seven white. All respectful. My head is spinning and my heart is heavy. Tomorrow starts day three of deliberations.
